WOW! What a great day at Clay Elementary. I think that we exceeded our expectations and then some. We were able to make new friends and made some great connections to some new opportunities. This event shows what a great and caring community we live in. Altoona showed up in force. For those who don't know, a donor has been located for Maddie. What a great piece of news and hope. There is a need to say a lot of Thank You's, I know that we are not working for a thank you but so many went above and beyond. The staff of Clay and Centennial what a team. No job was to big, to small or too dirty. You opened your building, your hearts and helped make this a real success. Your community and school system has to be proud of the work you do and have done. Eric and Jennifer Willson and in fact the entire Willson Family. Start to finish they were there. Can't say enough. Troy, Maddie's Shrine Dad, start to finish and working hard. To all of the friends and friends of friends that came and pitched in and helped they may never see this but they deserve a thanks. To all the Brother Masons of King David Lodge. To all of the Shrine Masons of Za Ga Zig who supported the effort. To all of the faithful at Altoona Christian Church. Rev. Ken Briggs and his wife Carla. To my Clown Buddies. To my family for putting up with me and the work they did. Every one of the Miracle Team thank you all of you made this a great success. I would also like to thank some of our friends and businesses that helped. Please pass the word along every chance to get their generosity is what fueled this event. Please remember, AE, Sign Works, IHOP, Schwan's, Signs Now, the Altoona Kiwanis, Prairie Meadows, The Christian Book Store, Pa Pa Murphy's of Oskaloosa Angela Rumbaugh and her Llama, Altoona Fire Department, the LLAMA Lady, the Iowa Bone Marrow Donor Program, students and families of Clay and Centennial. For those who may have missed them or who didn't meet them yet, Maddie's Brother and Sisters with their families were out in force to help, even Charlotte helped. Maddie, Ernie and Nancy have a great family and it shows with their love and support of each other. Thank you! We will keep on working until the Job is done!
